Ella Langley

Steeped in classic country, contemporary pop, and rootsy Southern rock, Ella Langley's songs showcase her unfiltered songwriting and gritty yet honeyed voice. While scoring hits like 2022's "Damn You," the Alabama-raised singer/songwriter penned Elle King's similarly outspoken "Out Yonder." Langley's banner 2023 included the release of her EP Excuse the Mess -- which featured the singles "Country Boy's Dream Girl" and "That’s Why We Fight (featuring Koe Wetzel)" -- the Tanner Usrey duet "Beautiful Lies," and her Grand Ole Opry debut, all of which led up to the 2024 release of her booze-stained debut album, the Billboard 200-charting hungover. It included her Hot 100 Top 40 debut, "You Look Like You Love Me" (featuring Riley Green).

Raised in a musical family, the Hope Hull native was attracted early on to the lyrical songwriting style of artists like Willie Nelson and Stevie Nicks. As she grew older, the neo-outlaw emissions of Chris Stapleton and Jamey Johnson caught her attention, and before long, she was sharing her own tales of life, love, and loss with crowds in Montgomery and Auburn.

Langley relocated to Nashville in 2019 to pursue music in earnest and built a solid social media following with the singles "If You Have To" (2021) and "Damn You" (2022), both of which were streamed tens of millions of times. She co-wrote five tracks on Elle King's 2022 LP Come Get Your Wife, including the hit "Out Yonder." Later that year, Langley had a hit of her own with "Country Boy's Dream Girl." She made her debut at the Grand Ole Opry in early 2023, a few months before the May release of her debut EP, Excuse the Mess, on SAWGOD Records/Columbia. The EP earned critical praise as well as hundreds of millions of streams. That November, she teamed up with Tanner Usrey for the duet "Beautiful Lies." In 2024, Langley toured with Riley Green, Hardy, and Morgan Wallen and appeared on the minor country hit "Strangers," a duet with Kameron Marlowe. Meanwhile, Green was featured on the Langley single "you look like you love me," which reached number 13 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart on its way to cracking the Top 40 of the Hot 100 (number 36). It was included on her debut album, August's hungover. Featuring production by Will Bundy (Drew Green, Graham Barham), the album reached the country Top 20 and debuted at number 77 on the Billboard 200 in addition to peaking at number 68 in Canada. ~ TiVo Staff
