Horizon Organic Dairy has recalled some of its Shelf-Stable (Aseptic) Plain Whole Milk. The milk can spoil prematurely.

The recall affects only four Lot Code Expiration Dates:

  • BEST BY 03 MAR 2025
  • BEST BY 04 MAR 2025
  • BEST BY 06 MAR 2025
  • BEST BY 07 MAR 2025

In all nearly 20,000 cases were part of the recall and have one of the following UPC numbers, either 3663207113 for the 12 pack or 3663207127 for the single one, the FDA said.

The milk was distributed in Arizona, California and Nevada.

No other Horizon products are affected.

The company said heat damage occurred to the milk during processing and is the reason for the “premature product spoilage.”

Horizon has already taken steps to prevent the issue from happening again.

If you have the recalled milk, make sure you have the receipt and the packing information and contact Horizon at 888-494-3020 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CT, for more information and to see if you are eligible for a refund.

The recall was initially announced on Dec. 13 but was updated to a Class II earlier this month. A Class II is “a situation in which use of, or exposure to, a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote,” the FDA said.
